The Polkinghorne Oration was inaugurated in 2023 to honour Brian and Jill Polkinghorne who have dedicated their lives to making the world a better place for all God’s creation. Their work in Australia and Africa has been an inspiration for many. Because of their deep commitment to environmental causes the Oration will always have a core focus on caring for the earth.

The 2025 Polkinghorne Orator will be be the Reverend Tim Costello, who has been a strong advocate of justice and humanity often in opposition to powerful political and Corporate interests over many years. His theme will be on the affect of climate change especially on women, the capacity of developing countries to cope and the growing diaspora of people made homeless and sometimes stateless by conflict, drought, rising seas and cultural rejection.
